Services

Is your roof line worse for wear with fascia crying out for a coat of paint yet again? Are there draughts that weren't there before? If you think fixing these problems will cost an arm and a leg, relax and contact J & S Home Improvements.

Realistic Pricing

J &S Home Improvements do not employ sales people or 'surveyors'. A trained fitter gives you a fixed price after measuring and a thorough evaluation. There are no hidden charges, the price quoted is the price you pay.

So Thorough

On completion all surfaces are thoroughly cleaned and rubbish is removed before you inspect the final work. Only when you are completely satisfied do you make final payment.

Quality uPVC

It pays to look out for inferior uPVC made from re-ground plastic which soon cracks & discolours. J & S Home Improvements use only quality materials. All their boards carry the manufacturer's 10 year warranty. So as well as no more maintenance, you also have a roof line that's going to stay looking good for years to come.

Dry Verge

We are in your area fitting the new dry verge system for gable ends. Manufactured and highly recommended by Redland, the major title company. You may or may not have seen this product before. If you would like to read below, it will explain all the advantages you would have on your property.

Traditional mortar bedding is still the most widely used fixing method in England & Wales, compared to Scotland where currently 80% of all verges are mechanically fixed. However, the increased incidence of storms over the last few years has clearly highlighted the unreliability of mortar to secure the tiles. The switch to dry verge is gathering greater momentum every year. With all the advantages it is not difficult to see why.

British Standards state that no reliance should be placed on the sheer strength of mortar used in the filling and bedding. Mortar will eventually crack. In contrast, Universal Dry Verges are mechanically fixed and each unit individually screwed. With the next unit interlocking giving extra strength and hiding the screws, offering the maximum protection against strong wind and water penetration, giving you the long term protection with a neat, attractive appearance and with none of the ongoing costs associated with mortar.

The average price for yourself to buy each unit from your local builder’s merchant is £6.99 per unit. I have an ongoing deal with a major company which enables me to supply & fit your property by a qualified fitter for the same price as it will cost you in materials alone.

Simply count your tiles leading up to your apex, e.g. 13 tiles along one side, 13 along the other and one ridge cap = 27 units = £188.00

Guttering & downpipes are available in a choice of colours to enhance the look of your home. Choose from black, brown or white.
